Third of all British adults only brush once a day

A shocking new set of figures has now shown that approximately a third of British adults brush their teeth just once every day. The discoveries of a YouGov survey indicate that 26 per cent of ladies and 33 per cent of men disregard advice suggesting they clean their teeth twice every day.

In spite of guidance from dental specialists to clean your teeth before hopping into bed and a minimum of once more during the day, most people admitted only committing to one brush every morning. The discrepancy was discovered after the figures showed 87 per cent of review participants brushed their teeth in the morning, contrasted with 72 percent at night. 8 per cent of individuals, however, brushed 3 times each day, though 2 per cent confessed to not brushing at all.

Despite the fact that dental specialists suggest flossing, just 31 per cent of those reviewed said that they flossed all the time. The figures also indicated that ladies flossed more than men.

Dentists and hygienists always advise brushing twice per day for no less than 2 minutes each time. Brushing expels bits of food, bacteria and other detritus from the mouth, cutting the risk of plaque build-up and fighting gum disease and decay. Brushing only once a day will leave big breaks between each clean, which leaves trapped food to damage the teeth for a longer period of time, and allows the bacteria to combine with spit and food, resulting in more amounts of plaque.
