British Bite Mark Directory success at The Dentistry Show
The Dentistry Show at the end of February showed the launch of the first edition of the British Bite Mark Directory. It proved to be a great success, with dentists and practice managers alike getting a copy and asking questions about the British Bite Mark campaign.
The feedback from many of the dentists the team spoke to was superb, with many questioning the merits of using a dental laboratory outside of the UK when many of today’s treatment plans reply on a close working relationship between the dentist and their dental laboratory.
The British Bite Mark Directory includes information about a large number of licensed labs, as well as some comprehensive information about the British Bite Mark: what it means to you as a dental practice, and the confidence it brings to patients knowing that their appliance carries the Bite Mark.
Richard Daniels, DLA Chief Executive, said: “The two days at DTS and The Dentistry Show were a great success for us in terms of the British Bite Mark. Unlike at previous exhibitions, we were able to get a strong message across both to our core audience of dental laboratory owners and to dentists, dental nurses, therapists and hygienists, which is fantastic.
“It was very reassuring that many dentists were already knowingly working with British Bite Mark dental laboratories and that the fact they were in the UK was a major reason for them using those particular labs. My hope now is that these practices really understand the British Bite Mark and start promoting the initiative to their patients as an added value benefit of the service to the patient.”
During the course of DTS and The Dentistry Show the Dental Laboratories Association did some brisk trade, signing up both dental laboratories that complied with the British Bite Mark license and dental practices that use British Bite Mark dental laboratories – many of whom took the opportunity for a promotional photo in the BBM photo booth.
